Demian is Here!
November 30, 2007
1st of all . . . . holy cow, Monday is in 3 days!!!
Literally it’s time to pack it up, pack it in & let it begin
Demian arrived the day before Thanksgiving & we had a lovely experience at the Fox Hollow Inn. Then cooking an 18 pound turkey & enough yummy sides to feed 4 sets of triplets the next day was another interesting experience LOL
After the fun clean-up, we headed out to New York City for 2 nights to do some exploring. We saw the Statue of Liberty, South Street Seaport, Rockerfeller Center, 5th Avenue & did Central Park via horse & buggy ride (awh!). We then had dinner with my bro & sis-in-law on Sunday – I cooked rigatoni alla vodka (yum!). Monday we took our rental car & headed North with our Prius (half-electric car – drives like a golf cart!)
I then showed him all around Greenwich, Stamford & Norwalk, stopping long enough to chat with friends along the way & meet peeps in downtown Stamford later in the evening. Tuesday we returned to LI, this time via ferry & then stopped at a winery along the North Fork before riding a few more ferries down to Sag Harbor & then to our final destination of Montauk! We then finished out our trip with a shopping stop in the Hamptons & a gig in Smithtown with Nan!
Today we are at the library, doing our internet duties – peeking across the table at each other & smiling from time to time (how cute!). FUN.
Alrighty then! Time to get to Costco for some on the road snackys & a quick stop to buy a new ski jacket!! Tonight it’s dinner in Cold Spring Harbor & then meeting friends in Huntington for a drink or 2. Tomorrow & Sunday — it’s super-packy time!!!
I’m sure I’ll be writing to ya from the road!
Happy beginning of the holidays everyone, enjoy the hustle/bustle :)

November 20, 2007
This Saturday my mom & I went to the Mohegan Sun Casino to celebrate her birthday! We had a great day together, although we both lost money (I lost $8 LOL). From then till now I’ve been finishing up my “To Do” lists, eating a special diet as per the Dr.
, cleaning house & packing for my mini NYC-CT-LI vacation starting this weekend!!
I can’t even believe that today is Tuesday — Demian arrives tomorrow!!
Party time
Happy Thanksgiving y’all!

Another Birthday Gone By . . .
November 14, 2007
& this was most likely the last one I spend in New York city.
To put it mildly? — I’m so over it.
Next year, I’ll be happy to chill with the buffalo, bear, moose & other wild creatures (like my boyfriend LOL)!
I didn’t get many pics that night as I was concentrating more on the drink in my hand & not getting barreled over by some rich guy with a blackberry, illuminating his way through the blackness of the club. Hey, I didn’t ruin my fabulous high heels which is a good thing
It was fun to hang with my girls Becky & Colleen from Connecticut, in addition to celebrating Colleen’s birthday (ours is on the same day)! Then after sleeping for 4 hours, it was brunch-time with my mom. We went over to Bayville & had a great meal at the Pine Island Grill, which is one of my favs!
So now it’s back to getting everything together . . .
My “To Do” list includes such things as:
- Wash all clothing in mom’s closet & pack into boxes
- Buy desk chair for mom to replace the one I’m taking to Wyoming
- Prepare cross country trip using I-80
Sounds like a good time huh? You betcha!!
Check ya later y’all ~

50th Reunion, Halloween Fun & Hangin w/LI Pals!
November 8, 2007
Only a few weeks left until I skip town LOL
Going to my mom’s 50th high school reunion with her was quite an experience! I met some very interesting older folk, watched a guy do an Elvis impersonation & had a reason to dress up in a dress & high heels! Halloween was a good time, although I remember now why I pretty much don’t frequent bars too much anymore due to the seedy peeps around . . .
After the holiday, my girlfriend invited me to go to a business dinner with her, so we did Gasho Japan in Hauppauge with a vendor & then went to a dirty little bar to catch up for some fun girly talk. Then, we had a sleepover! On Sunday – I hung out with a sister/brother team & had fun mountain biking, shopping & eating Chinese!
So, other than living with my mother (what fun!) & UHaul/Penske fighting over my cross-country rental business each day, I’ve just been living my life. & of course another (important!) quick tidbit of info is that Demian & I have switched back to “Plan A”, which is settling down in Jackson, Wyoming
It’s going to be another wild time of moving around in the start of winter, but we are hoping that the recent mildness will stay with us until we are settled in! Just another 2 weeks & Demian arrives in New York (!!!), but for now . . . it’s onto a birthday celebration plan for the weekend, girls-only style in NY City!!
Ciao for now ~

Fun with Friends!
October 26, 2007
This weekend I decided to head to NYC & party with some girlfriends — with my bike of course! On Saturday I went into the city via train & then went to a house party. It was a bit strange being the only sober one, as I still can’t drink alcohol due to taking antibotics . . .
Then Sunday I biked through the New York City streets for the 1st time! It was so unbelievably exhilirating (minus the small tumble I had) LOL
Sunday I went up to Connecticut & went shopping. Then Monday I biked around Stamford & Norwalk. I even did my old bike route from Springdale to the Merritt 7! I met up with some peeps from my old work & we went to Sono Seafood for dinner. Tuesday I biked to Greenwich (dang hilly terrain!) & my momma met me there to pick me up. What a great mom & what great friends I have :)
Anyhoo, it was a fun weekend overall & I was super-glad I didn’t miss out on the leaves changing for the fall. It was absolutely beautiful as you’ll see from all the pics.
Happy Autumn!!

Farewell to South Carolina!
October 20, 2007
Well, my extended vacation of sun, fun & convertibles is officially over ![]()
No more babies to play with, no more drinking every night, no more tae-bo on demand & no more Ms. PacMan fixes.
The car was ready & I drove it back to LI on Friday (took me 13 hours) . . .
It was a real fun drive — you know — with your typical jerky drivers, rain/fog, accidents everywhere, etc.
But I’m back with the cadillac! & now I’m off to NYC & CT for a short spell! Demian left for Northern Cali to do a film gig for the next 3 weeks or so (no phone service there so we are now im text buddies), but I’m so excited to plan for his arrival in about a month for Thanksgiving!
Then it’s “sia-nara” to the east coast for me
Holy moley – a month! I’d better start partying before I go back to domesticated life LOL
Enjoy the photos!

An Extended Southern Vacation!
October 13, 2007
So my mom & I left last weekend to head on down to the Carolinas, except in Virginia we had an engine problem. We called TripleA, get towed & the repair place put 3 gallons of coolant in but didn’t see a problem – so we continued on our merry way!
We made it to North Carolina at about 10 at night (not before we had to go up 4 miles of switchbacks in total backcountry darkness & I thought my mom was going to have a major coronary) & I left in the morning for Myrtle Beach, South Carolina (another 5 & a half “kill-me-now” drive). But I listened to my books on tape & I was good to go
I brought the car into a Cadillac dealership the next day for a full inspection & it turns out a major repair is needed that will take 10 business days!
So there’s my excuse to have a longer vacation – my mom is flying back to NY & I will stay down here until the car is done & I can drive it back!
In the meantime, Diane & I have hit the town, mall & beach & we are far from done! We have eaten like vactioners, drank cocktails at all hours of the day, walked around, ran the beach out of guilt & had chats at the pool. But now she’s back to work! I do love driving around in her cute little convertible bug & making her 1 year old son laugh.
Last night it was Chucky Cheese to celebrate one of her niece’s birthdays & today it’s a 6 year old bowling party! Ahhh the world of small children — AND the world of not working, it’s quite fun!
Catch ya later

A Lawng-Giland Weekend
October 3, 2007
Biking to Jones Beach was great to do solo — 22 miles total from door to beach
I got there, took a nap, snapped a few pics & headed back to my mom’s place just in time for dinner! I thought it would feel like old times as a kid – but it felt more like . . . OK, been there/done that — I’m super-excited to move to California!
It was also wonderful to spend some quality time with some girlfriends this weekend – visiting wineries out East, cooking an Italian dinner together, going to a Sunday band gig in Smithtown (where I used to live), etc. However, our wine tasting adventure on Saturday was definitely less than enjoyable! There were SO MANY PEOPLE – buses & limos were everywhere, we had to pay money to taste, families took over every table/chair, obnoxiously loud people crowded the tasting areas & the wines were just plain awful! Better to visit during the off-season for sure!
On a more serious note, I was able to go to an ENT Doctor this past week to find out why I’ve still been feeling ill. Turns out that my lingual tonsils have a major infection & my body has been trying to fight it for months — & an infection appears here after you have an allergy! Yikes. I’m on meds now & I plan on visiting an allergist soon.
OK — time to pack for my vacation trip to the Carolinas starting this weekend!!
More sun & fun to come
In my mind I’m goin to Carolina
Can’t you see the sunshine
Can’t you just feel the moonshine

Party-Party in Connecticut!
September 25, 2007
I had only been back 1 full day & I was off to Connecticut for a long weekend to party
I left Thursday on a train & it took me 3 & a half hours to finally get to East Norwalk. It’s kind of difficult not having a vehicle to get around with anymore (but I have my bike back now & I’m in my glory)! My friend Kevin said he’d take me for a ride in his new X (my old vehicle) — how weird would that be!?
Anyhoo, the weekend was totally fun! I had some relaxing beach time + shopping by day — & nice dinners/drinks with friends by night. Oh . . . & yes there was a bit of dancing involved, young boys trying to win us over with their best lines of the evening, going into NY after the CT bars closed & ultimately staying up until 7am, however — I would say we were very tame this time around LOL
Really, the most happiness came with just being able to catch up with friends. So many things have changed in everyone’s lives over the last few months, it’s just amazing sometimes to listen
Well, this week involves getting my mom’s condo painted (not-so-fun + messy) but it will be worth it when it’s finished & beautiful! & then Friday starts another adventure — this time on the East end of Long Island!!
