My B-Day + Thanksgiving!

November 30, 2008

So, my birthday came & went quietly, which was very nice!  I spent the day having lunch with friends & later happy hour @ the Cadillac & eating Billy’s Burgers  :)

Thanksgiving was way fun — we had 11 people come over to Sacre & Michele’s instead of 6!  I also had french fried onions for breakfast & chatted with the cat as he circled me while I prepared the turkey for the oven.  The 14 pound turkey came out awesome (always trust a Bon Appetit recipe!), & some other people brought over some elk tenderloin & backstrap which was dee-lish!  So, I basically slaved over a hot stove for the entire day, but it was worth it.  I was aso everyone’s favorite martini bartender – making everything from cosmos to mangotinis to orange- peach tinis  :P   I then climbed half of Snow King Mountain with Sacre’s dog, Trick & we met Sacre up there & hiked down, checking on the snowmakers.  Later it was movie-watching with Scotty at his house.

More items of note:
~ I went trap shooting with Kenny & didn’t hit one clay!
(But then I picked up a bow & shot a bullseye LOL)
~ Our 2009 PAWS calendar is complete & my boss & I attended a thank you party.
~ I’ve been spoiled for the past month, because I’ve been driving my friend Cat’s car around while she’s been away.  I have to return it to her tomorrow night (boooooo).
~ I won another contract for consulting work
~ Yes, I got over the stage fright & sang a solo at church. It was nice – everyone enjoyed.
~ I boarded the village on Saturday.  & snowboarding is a bit like riding a bike . . . although I would rather be riding a bike  LOL

& one last item to note . . .
I finally recorded a song I created a few years ago!  I entitled it “Gone Away.”
Check it out here: Gone Away

Got Moab?

November 13, 2008

Ah yes . . . Moab, Utah.
“Got Moab?” is a new sticker I purchased for my snowboard :P
I’ve always wanted to head over to the mountain bike mecca of this world — & now I can say:
Been there – done that! Check!

My friend Andrea & I rocked out in Utah — we roughed it camping for 2 days, did the hardest mountain bike trail we could find (Slick Rock), braved the showers at the hostel, hiked to Delicate Arch in Arches National Park & shopped till we dropped in Salt Lake City!! It was quite a time away from Jackson — defiinitely not enough time to do everything, but a fine time at that. & 8 hours of car riding there & back was just dandy too! Check out the pics . . . they say a thousand words!

On another quick note, I finally got the video for my British voice over that I did back in July. Have a look-see, I uploaded to YouTube. Enjoy! & yes, my voice is morphed a bit LOL

So!  Upon the return of my California vacation, I met up with a couchsurfer passing through Jackson.  Bryon has been living in South Carolina for the past few years & we hiked all day around a snowy Jenny Lake.  We thoroughly enjoyed each other’s company & will definitely meet up again when he finally moves out west (most likely to Colorado)!

Dressing Trick up for a Halloween party at the pet boutique was fun.  He’s my little angel!!  Other pets were dressed up funny, as you’ll see from the pics  :)   I also went to the Old Bill’s check presenting event for PAWS & had dinner with the rotary club.  Scotty also cooked me dinner Wed night & we feasted on coconut shrimp, crabcakes & salmon.  He even wrapped the leftovers all nice for me so I could bring it to work the next day!  Awh  :P

I worked the maze on Wed and Thurs night, scaring the heck out of small children (if they were really scared I let them touch my snakes to see they weren’t real).  I went to a party at my neighbor’s house on Halloween & drank their “potion.”  Woah!  Then I went to the maze again to scare kids for an hour & did a walk-thru myself with my camera  LOL  After the maze closed, I headed on over to the Snow King party & fell into step the masses of people in the ballroom that had dressed up for the evening… But, can you believe I only lasted about half an hour until I decided to call it a night!? LOL

So what’s next you may ask??
Holy crow — my birthday’s a comin’ quick!
