Home Sweet Home!
December 31, 2007
Thank goodness all that road-tripping is finished!!
& just in time for the holidays
We’ve been doing a lot of relaxing & cooking good food, as well as getting our new place together. Since our pad is so small, we need to build shelving for storage – so we are still living with boxes all around & using our coffee table as a place to eat dinner LOL It works fine for now! I promise to upload more pics of the inside of our place as soon as it’s no longer deeemed a construction zone!
I missed Christmas with my family, but being with Demian & his friends was fun. We also went snow-crunch jogging a few times. & so with many a storm throwing snowfall our way, I plan to take snowboard lessons next week. Then I can rip with the big boys LOL, yeah right!! Total snowfall this year in Jackson has been 196 inches!!
OK then, just enjoying the full-on ski town for now — & of course going to a New Years party at the pub in town tonight! Hooray — I get to wear my sparkly high heels!
Happy New Year everyone — Enjoy!!

Visiting Ventura & Mexico!
December 22, 2007
What a time!
Demian & I went back to Ventura for a bit last week to chill with friends & pack up his stuff for Wyoming
We had a fun time doing beachy things – watching holiday boat shows, driving to Mexico, watching Demian & his friends paragliding & taking a sky ride in a motorized hang glider!
We are still on the road right now, but heading back to Wyoming — to try a little ski town living
I am TIRED!!!
The next blog will be all about our new place & our adventures on getting set up our lives in the real (beautiful) world LOL
Merry Christmas y’all!

I doooo love Jackson :)
December 13, 2007
Well!! I definitely have a few stories for you guys!!
Demian & I left Marti’s warm, welcoming abode in Denver for the nasty winter roads of the backcountry. Pardon my French, but holy SH*T. We came upon the most gnarlyist roadways known to man (hey, I’m allowed to use these words now that my boyfriend is from California LOL). Our lovely 11 hour experience included: semi’s racing past each other on the major interstate, mesmerizing snow whisping across the dusky highway (I got an awesome pic), riding on sheets of pure ice in the dark & a 3-second Penske truck slide that had my stomach in knots for hours. Ah yes, it was indeed a lovely ride.
So then, arriving in Jackson Hole at roughly 11pm – we decided to stop at the Brew Pub 1st (where we originally met, awh!), as Demi had been driving all day & night & needed a serious break. After we had dinner there & relaxed for a bit, we went over to see & stay at our new place that we secured with friends a few weeks ago. Only to be extremely bummed . . .
& OK, since I’m new to the word “gnarly” – I must tell you that this word is only supposed to be used in the most extreme situations. & so I’m about to use it twice in this blog post!! The apartment we were supposed to rent was TOTALLY GNARLEY. I can’t even talk about it, it was that bad. Hey, you know it’s awful when Rose can’t even take pictures of what she’s experiencing.
The next day we were even more sad. After all, we came to Jackson to build a life together & have a place to call our very own. & we both knew that it’s extremely difficult to score a place in this town — especially with reasonable rent! So picture us, sitting at the local bagel shop in town trying hard to keep smiles on our faces (here comes the happy ending!!) & a friend of his walks in. We tell him the story & he tells us of a place he just bought & is putting up for rent – a perfect local town location too. So we go look at it, fall in love with it/the view & give him the $$ to call it our very own! Plus our new landlord is interested in my web skills for his business – fun!
No doubt, the man upstairs works in mysterious ways.
& now? I am so in love with Jackson Hole. I met so many cool people just in ONE day (funny to think that Demi pretty much knows everyone because he came to Jackson 15 years ago & he was only 1 of 30 snowboarders in town). OK, so I’ll talk about our killer place to live in another blog post, but for now — it’s road trippin time again. We left Jackson Tuesday & we are now packing up everything in Ventura now. It’s sunny here!
Cheers! xo

Road Trippin Across the USA!
December 7, 2007
Demian & I had one last hurrah in Huntington on Friday night to meet some peeps & then it was time to hunker down & pack everything up! We fit everything in the truck & left Long Island right on time Monday – arriving in Zelienople, Pennsylvania just as a lovely snowstorm started. After a fantastic sushi dinner, we hung out with his friend (they originally met in Jackson, WY), drank lots of wine & chatted the night away.
Then it was on to Ottowa, Illinois for our second stop where we stayed at a Super 8 & ate low brow bar food for dinner. The next day it was 8 hours of driving for a final destination of Lincoln, Nebraska for our 3rd night stay. That morning there was a snowstorm & we encountered many overturned & jackknifed trucks/trailers. Lucky for us, we drove out of the snowstorm after about 2 hours or so. Later that night (strangly enough), we also happened to drive through Omaha, Nebraska on the day of the mall shooting.
Today we are in Denver, Colorado – visiting with my friend Marti from childhood. Her & Ryan are great hosts & it’s totally fun to be around kiddos for a small stint. LOL We are staying another night here & then Saturday it’s another 8 hour drive to Jackson Hole to check out our new place right in town & unpack everything in the truck!
Once we unpack though, it’s road trip time once again! Demian & I will drive the empty truck to Ventura, California & drop it off. Then we’ll spend a few days there, spending time with his family & friends – & then packing up his stuff to head out of town with his 49′ Buick with a brand new engine! Not without stopping for a few days in Mexico 1st though! Demian & his pal are working on some paragliding film stuff there. Woo hoo! Just when I thought all the sun & fun was a very distant memory LOL
We are also working on going to Hawaii in the spring ![]()
Chat with y’all soon!
