Whoopsie! Sorry for the delay in sharing, it’s really been a busy couple of months!

Business is booming, there are many events around town I am attending & I just came back from vacation!  Vacation in the Dominican Republic was mostly relaxing . . . but then it turned into a hospital event (my flight returning to Miami was cancelled & I was sick from the food American Airlines put me in)!  All worked out, & I attended my niece’s wedding which was beautiful.  & the holidays were a nice time to spend with friends here in Jackson.  & now I’m so glad to be home again!

Since Picasa is now owned by Google, I’ve had to “privatize” my photos.  I believe from this link, you should be able to see all the albums again.  As always, the pictures tell a fun story of my life  :)  & there’s more fun to come of course!

Time has passed by so quickly since summer has gone.  & I’ve been working so hard with my social media business that I realized I am behind in my personal blog postings!

So, as you know my pictures tell a story.  These will tell you about . . . a hike up to Ampitheatre Lake in GTNP, readying my bike for winter, getting fingerprinted so I can serve my community through the Teton Literacy Program (I have the cutest 2nd grader that I’m helping with his reading!), watching an owl being released at the Raptor Center, doing my October seminar series on social media, doing the Brew Pub photoshoot & “Tweets-Giving” promo, Halloween fun & working at the haunted maze this year, hiking Hermitage Point in GTNP, attending an art event, a Womentum event & <whew!> my birthday party on 11.11.11!

Enjoy the photos & have a happy start of your holiday season  :)

Because Google merged with Picasa & I don’t want my Google+ contacts seeing all of my pictures, I have to now lock the link (to limit comments from random wierdos):  https://picasaweb.google.com/107985924751539799087/HalloweenBDay

& it seems to me that even though I’ve tried over 10 of these “slideshows” – every single one of them stink! Still looking for something better, so for now just click the link above to enjoy pics :)

Well, it was quite a vacation.  It started off with a BANG — a shark diving experience!  I originally wanted to do an open water dive in Montauk, New York, but the logistics just weren’t working – so I went to the aquarium in Riverhead & did it there!  Great 1st time experience breathing underwater, I was very calm & was just enthralled by the sharks around me  :)

My September “beach” vacation in Montauk was OK, but the weather wasn’t so great.  It was supposed to be an indian summer!  There were a few spots of sunshine, but mostly it was just overcast, muggy & rainy the whole time.  Yikes!  But, I was able to spend time with awesome family & friends.  So, for that I’m very grateful.  Then, of course – I returned home the other day & cried when I landed in Jackson Hole.  The next day I preceded to go directly into Grand Teton National Park for some serious autumn Teton Love (via hiking Jenny Lake).  I’m so glad I didn’t miss fall here.  It’s gone in a blink usually.

It was nice to get my beach on for sure, but the mountains here still rule!
I’m not going anywhere for a while.  Yay!  ;)

& Slide.com changed around, so I am looking for a new slideshow.  This one is definitely not it, as it’s not “embedding” properly.  Ah well.  You can always click if you want to see my picture highlights!  http://files.photosnack.com/iframe/embed.html?hash=e288461cdf16ec143e97bfd8a1679423&bgcolor=EEEEEE&t=1317617186

Summer’s not over…

September 17, 2011

Because I’m going on vacation tomorrow!
It’s definitely fall in Jackson Hole – thunderstorms, chilly weather . . . I’ve even had to use my heat in the mornings.

However, a vacation in the town of Montauk is just what I’m in need of.  I’m burned out from the summer & I need to recharge!  The pics as always tell a story & this post will tell you:  I saw friends, I saw moose, I enjoyed Jackson BBQ evenings, I was a portrait model for an art class & a runway/jewelry model this year for the Western Design Conference, I did Crystal Butte front & backside, (finally!) The Wind River Range with the Sierra Club, & of course – attended many meetings.

Have a look, because I have to get to bed.
You need lots of rest for sharkdiving.  Whoop, whoop!

Full-on Summertime!

August 6, 2011

Summer is so lovely here in Jackson.
Short . . . but very, very sweet!

Lots to recap, so let’s do this . . .

My friend Cara from Connecticut came for a visit (right after Becky!) so we went rafting & visited Yelowstone on bikes; had my cabinet made by the guy from ACE Hardware; went to Grand Targhee Music Festival; went to the fire department’s chicken fry; visited my new client at Goosewing Ranch in the Gros Ventre wilderness; attended an event on the roof of the parking garage & went into the backcountry with a friend visiting from Seattle!  & that’s just what the pictures show  ;)

Cheers to summer!

Much has happened with my life in the last few months!  Plus, it turns out there WAS quite a bit of winter left to go here, but now it’s full-on summertime in Jackson & I am loving it  :)

Let’s see if I can recap everything:

* I officially became an alum of the Womentoring program (& still continue to learn from all of the amazing businesswomen here in Jackson)
* I had a visitor from Wisconsin come in & I took a week vacation in my National Park backyard
* I floated with Sands (one of my consulting clients) & it snowed on us
* I tried building a cabinet for my voice over studio & failed (although, I was very lucky to find a carpenter that I can pay to build it this time!)
* I pet-sat a very large shaggy dog for a week (he towed me along on my bike)
* Another guide friend from Rhode Island came into town on a bus tour & we enjoyed some snowshoeing & blackberry margaritas together
* I received the check for my voice over studio from the Women’s Business Center of Wyoming (still have the Mac tucked into a corner & have not moved over to it yet!)
* I was asked to attend a morrel mushroom party
* I won a 1st prize award from the WY Broadcaster’s Association for best commercial in the state (!!)
* I did a week-long bike tour in Yellowstone & saw 3 grizzlies, met ladies on the tour that had been to Alaska – which solidified my thought for a trip to Alaska in September (!!)
* I was asked to Emcee the event at the Wildlife Art Museum & did a live auction for the very first time (!!)
* I sat in a field of wildflowers :)
* I ballooned with the “Balloon Miester” with my friend Becky that came in this past weekend from CT
* I marvelled at the baby animals in Yellowstone & the Tetons
* Went on a Jenny Lake boat ride with the masses
* Saw fireworks out at the village & at the town hill
* Supported my Mentor/Friend Bob, as he was the emcee of  the 4th of July parade!

Whew!  I think it’s time for a nap — at least I’m all caught up now with all my pics  ;)
Happy summer!

(Sorry — SlideShow hasn’t been working for the past few days, so I am posting without featured pics this time!)

Closing Out Winter!

May 20, 2011

Wow!  What a winter can do  ;)

I’ve been very involved in the community, going to events left & right.  My businesses have expanded to unbelievable levels, & it’s been quite a ride!  We had a long winter here (in fact, it’s still kind of here) — but my love of Jackson Hole is so strong, I don’t even mind . . .

So, this winter included dancing, eating lobster, snowshoeing, hanging out with birds of prey, last day for snowboarding at the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, chillin’ with the Easter Bunny, the closing of the Womentum program, & of course — lots of Grand Teton breaks!

Next up?  Ah yes, that special person from Wisco is coming into town today!  So, I will be enjoying a vacation right here in SWEET Jackson Hole . . . stay tuned for more details — & pics!

Ohhhhhh lucky me!
Yes, I had the ultimate hook-up for this — a pet-sitting gig with a place to stay, a bike to ride & new friends to hang with.  What more could a girl ask for?   :)

My trip to New O really was fabulous!  I enjoyed learning about the town & the different districts, dressing up in different fun outfits, going to parades almost every day, being part of a crawfish boil, catching beads & fun stuff from the floats, having an alligator eat a marshmallow a foot from the boat, checking out Bourbon Street craziness, biking in the French Quarter, savoring the food & most importantly — living like a local!

I can’t thank Marc & Mimi enough for their generous hospitality & OK-ing my friend Dorothy to stay with me as well.  It’s been quite the trip . . . & I hope to visit again!  PS: The weather on several warm days was a nice experience too — but now, I’m SO ready to head back to snowy Jackson Hole tomorrow  :)

So many more adventures in 2 months!
All are snow related AND friend related  ;)

Pics of snowboarding on the mountain, working with the Horse Warrior Horses, going to hockey games, doing business seminars & Women’s Business RoundTables, sitting at the feet of Mr. Martin Sexton . . . you know — just everyday adventures here in Jackson Hole! Next stop — Mardi Gras in Louisiana :P

My Maui trip was absolutely awesome!  I traveled solo to the island for a week (including Christmas Eve/Day) — & I saw tons, did some super-active things & met a bunch of cool visitors & locals. & with long trips like these, I typicially list what I did on each day . . .

TUESDAY:
- Left for Maui!  (I was hyperventilating when I was able to get on 1st standby flight)
- Even had a bulkhead seat with more room
- Free lunch & glass of wine from the lovely female flight attendants that could relate to why I was traveling to Maui
- The movie was Eat, Pray, Love — how appropriate!
- Got to Maui & just sat & marveled at the mountains for a bit
- Checked into the hostel

WEDNESDAY:
- Went to Lahaina (& snorkeled next to a turtle!)
- Got cool underwater pics & tried freediving
- Jumped off a 30 foot lava cliff
- Enjoyed a Mai Tai at the waters edge at sunset

THURSDAY:
- Went to Kehei
- Swam & snorkeled into a deep sea area & saw a few turtles
- Sat with my old friend (the sun) awhile
- Went to Big Beach/Little Beach (hung out at the nude beach for about 2 minutes)
- Hung out & watched the sunset

FRIDAY (Cmas Eve):
- Went on a whale-watching tour
- Saw many whales very close to the boat
- My friend Toby that now lives in Maui (from Jackson Hole) picked me up
- Went to a Hawaiian family dinner & met some lovely peeps

SATURDAY (Cmas Day):
- Hiked the volcano crater (amazing!)
- Went back up 3 miles of hefty switchbacks into the clouds
- Relaxed & saw the sunset after the 12 mile hike

SUNDAY:
- A fun beach day
- Shared rum & orange/mango juice with friends on the beach
- Danced with a drum circle on Little Beach
- Had really good Thai food for dinner

MONDAY:
- Hiked the steep, muddy Iao Valley
- Learned about the sad battle site that occurred there
- Ate mini-guavas & berries from the trail on the hike

TUESDAY:
- Sat in the front seat on the road to Hana (super winding roads)!
- Explored caves & hung out on a black sand beach
- Ate fresh pineapple from a stand
- Saw the 7 Sacred Pools
- Trail ran up/back to the Bamboo forest with a girl from Canada

WEDNESDAY:
- Got to the cool little hippie town of Paia
- Ate pulled pork for lunch from a local cafe
- Had an hour & a half long business meeting
- Hung out at Lori’s house (a new friend that Toby introduced me to!)
- Picked up some “Maui Babe” tan cream to bring home
- Got dropped at the airport for 11:36PM flight

THURSDAY:
- Came into Denver in the early AM
- Got Starbucks
- Watched the plane pull away to Jackson (couldn’t get on stand-by)
- Got on the next flight, 3 hours later
- Plane diverted to Idaho Falls
- Caught a car-rental ride with some locals & got back to Jackson!

Now that I feel centered & completely re-grouped from my vacation, I am ready for the new year!  My last minute Maui experience was meant to be & I had fun celebrating my new-found singleness ;)  So, after 3 beach trips this year (Panama/Outer Banks/Maui), I’ll be kicking back here in Jackson for a while.  But . . . I’ll still be on the lookout for the perfect little beach town to call my home!

I took many pictures, & as you know — they tell their own story.  Check them out!
